[TAGALOG] Nanawagan ang Panaghiusa sa UN Country Team at diplomatic community na maglabas ng pahayag ng pagkabahala sa kalagayan ng mga Katutubo sa Pilipinas, batay sa mga kasong inilahad. Nanawagan sila na suportahan ng UN Country Team at diplomatic community ang mga panawagan para sa pananagutan at pagsasagawa ng mga independent investigation sa lahat ng kaso ng paglabag sa karapatang pantao at IHL.

Members of Panaghiusa urged the UN Country Team and diplomatic community to issue statements of concern on the situation of the Indigenous Peoples in the Philippines, citing the cases presented. They further urged them to support the call for accountability and independent investigations into all documented cases of human rights and IHL violations.

[ENGLISH] From the first day of the ISM, the teams have been subjected to surveillance, intimidation, and harassment. Military deployment has intensified in Abra de Ilog, Mindoro, and Tanay, Rizal, with the 76th and 80th Infantry Battalions of the Philippine Army stationed dangerously close to ISM venues. Reports include drone surveillance, checkpoints, forced disclosure of participant identities, and barangay officials acting in concert with military agents,...

[ENGLISH] The same patterns of repression persist today: red-tagging, militarization, plunder of ancestral lands, and the criminalization of Indigenous resistance. The recorded 100 Indigenous Peoples political prisoners, including Dumagat Rocky Torres and Avelardo “Dandoy” Avellaneda, is a living testament to this ongoing injustice.

This year’s celebration is not only a tribute to the rich cultural heritage and enduring resilience of Indigenous peoples, but also a call to action amid intensifying threats to their land, life, and resources.

[ENGLIS] In the fourth State of the Nation Address, Panaghiusa Philippine Network to Uphold Indigenous Peoples’ Rights calls on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to acknowledge and address the real conditions of the country, especially the worsening plight of the Indigenous Peoples.

[TAGALOG] Ito ay umaalingawngaw sa mga dekadang pakikibaka ng mga Katutubo upang itaguyod ang karapatan sa lupa, pangalagaan ang kritikal na mga ecosystem, at tutulan ang mga proyektong ipinatutupad nang walang malaya, pauna, at may sapat na kaalamang pahintulot. Pinagtitibay nito ang mahahalagang panawagan sa 1Sambubungan Indigenous Peoples’ Agenda, partikular hinggil sa lupang ninuno, pangangalaga sa kalikasan, at rights-based governance na may sapat na partisipasyon.

[ENGLISH] This echoes decades of Indigenous-led struggle to uphold land rights, safeguard critical ecosystems, and oppose projects imposed without free, prior, and informed consent. It affirms key demands in the 1Sambubungan Indigenous Peoples’ Agenda, particularly on ancestral domain, environmental protection, and participatory and rights-based governance.
