[TAGALOG] Ang sunod‑sunod na mga insidente ay nagpapakita ng sinadyang kampanya ng militarisasyon, panliligalig, pagdukot, pagpapahirap, at kriminalisasyon na naglalayong patahimikin ang paglaban at agawan ng mga Katutubo ang kanilang mga lupang ninuno.  

[TAGALOG] Sa gitna ng food blockades, aerial bombings, at banta ng panununog, nagsikap ang NSM na iligtas ang mga batang Lumad at mga tagapagturo mula sa nalalapit na panganib. Ngunit sa halip na kilalanin ang gawaing ito ng pagprotekta, kinriminalisa ito ng estado, tinagurian ang mga tagapagtanggol bilang “child abusers” habang walang pananagutan ang militar at paramilitar.

[ENGLISH] In the face of food blockades, aerial bombings, and threats of arson, the NSM sought to rescue Lumad children and educators from imminent danger. Yet, instead of recognizing this act of protection, the state has criminalized it, branding defenders as “child abusers” while absolving the military and paramilitary forces of accountability.  

[ENGLISH] On Indigenous Peoples and Moro Human Rights Day, Panaghiusa reaffirms its call to uphold Indigenous Peoples’ rights. As the Indigenous Peoples call for justice for victims of enforced disappearance, illegal arrest and detention, and killings, Filipinos must also expose and oppose the massive corruption under the regime of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte.

[TAGALOG] Ngayong ika-9 ng Agosto, nakikiisa ang Panaghiusa Philippine Network to Uphold Indigenous Peoples' Rights sa mga Katutubong komunidad sa buong mundo sa paggunita ng Pandaigdigang Araw ng mga Katutubo. Ang pagdiriwang ngayong taon ay hindi lamang pagpupugay sa mayamang kultura at katatagan ng mga Katutubo, kundi isang panawagan para sa pagkilos sa gitna ng lumalalang banta sa kanilang lupa, buhay, at likas-yaman.

[ENGLISH] Today, August 9, Panaghiusa Philippine Network to Uphold Indigenous Peoples' Rights joins Indigenous communities across the globe in commemorating the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples. This year’s celebration is not only a tribute to the rich cultural heritage and enduring resilience of Indigenous peoples, but also a call to action amid intensifying threats to their land, life, and resources.

[TAGALOG] Ngayong ika-apat na State of the Nation Address, nananawagan ang Panaghiusa Philippine Network to Uphold Indigenous Peoples’ Rights kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na kilalanin at tugunan ang tunay na kalagayan ng bansa, partikular ang lumalalang pagdurusa ng mga Katutubo.

[ENGLIS] In the fourth State of the Nation Address, Panaghiusa Philippine Network to Uphold Indigenous Peoples’ Rights calls on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to acknowledge and address the real conditions of the country, especially the worsening plight of the Indigenous Peoples.

[TAGALOG] Ayon sa Pandaigdigang Batas sa Karapatang Pantao, tungkulin ng estado ang protektahan, hindi usigin, ang mga tagapagtanggol ng karapatang pantao. Pinagtitibay rin ng UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) ang karapatan ng mga Katutubong komunidad na magtatag ng kanilang sistemang pang-edukasyon, isabuhay at ipasa ang kanilang tradisyong kultural, at mamuhay nang walang takot at karahasan.

[ENGLISH] Under international human rights law, the state is obligated to protect, not persecute, human rights defenders. The UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) likewise affirms the rights of Indigenous communities to establish and control their educational systems, practice and transmit their cultural traditions, and live free from fear and violence.
